If you put a wall between you it’ll stop working (though any effect it’s had so far will stay until the spell wears off). However, this spell can only affect you if the jailer who cast it can see you. It’s only a temporary effect but it’s really annoying. The jailers can cast a spell (indicated by a little puff of fog and a red light around them) that shortens your health bar and increases your equip load. They wear tall hats and long robes, and disturbing doll-like masks, but if that doesn’t tip you off then you can spot them by the large branding irons they carry as weapons which, depending on your stats, can deliver an instant kill if they get a proper hit on you. We’re not really given to explaining all the enemies you’ll meet, because that takes a bit of the ‘fun’ out of playing the game, but we’re giving a special mention to the jailers.
